Episode 100: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 w/ special guest Patrick Bromley
Thursday Nov 10, 2022
Thursday Nov 10, 2022
EPISODE 100!!! They started with "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" for their first episode and now, they celebrate their 100th discussing 1986's crazy black comedy horror sequel "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2" directed by Tobe Hooper with dream guest Patrick Bromley (critic, host of "F This Movie!" podcast, contributor on Bloody Disgusting, Daily Dead, and Corpse Club). They talk about Hooper's choice to turn the sequel for one of the darkest horror movies in history into a black comedy, what makes this one the more approachable and rewatchable flick, how the overacting (especially from Dennis Hopper) works for the tone of the movie, and what this film means to Hooper superfans Patrick and Aaron. They also get into the neon artificial set design, the descent into madness by the end of the film, how it explores class, capitalism and Americana, and several other topics. Aaron doesn't skimp on the meat. Derek knows the saw is family. Patrick is the Lord of the Harvest!
Thank you Patrick and all our previous guests! Most importantly, thank YOU...our listeners! Here's to a 100 more!
