This week, author V.P. Morris ("ShadowCast," "The Dead Letters Podcast," and upcoming novel "Dead Ringer") returns to the show to discuss 2000's black comedy horror movie "American Psycho" directed by Mary Harron with Aaron and Derek. They talk about the differences between the book and the movie, the satire of hyper masculinity, the themes of identity, and how the response has evolved over the years. They also get into Christian Bale's portrayal of Patrick Bateman, reality vs delusion, among many other aspects of the flick. Derek has to return some videotapes. Aaron is a big Genesis fan. There is an idea of a V.P. Morris; some kind of abstraction.

X) Josh Hale and DeeJay Rolison to discuss 2018's psychological horror film "The Perfection" directed by Richard Shepard. They talk about abuse in entertainment and art, personal experiences with classical music in context to the movie, and how successful or not it is at tackling the associated themes. They also get into the camp factor and exploitation in "The Perfection" among many other aspects of the flick. Josh and DeeJay are seeing bugs. Aaron and Derek know what you have to do.

They talk about Frankenheimer and Seltzer's thoughts and feelings about the movie, the original concept vs actual design of the "Pizza Bear" monster, and some of the problematic nature of the story and casting. They also get into the unexpected serious themes the film tries to tackle along with many other topics. Aaron is in a sleeping bag getting punched into a rock. Derek now craves pizza.

For the first episode of 2022, Derek and Aaron welcome Shelby Scott, creator and host of the wonderful horror storytelling podcast "Scare You To Sleep," as a guest to discuss 1980's ghost movie "The Changeling" directed by Peter Medak. They talk about George C. Scott's subtle performance and how his character reconciles with the haunting. They also get into the house being a character itself, the origins of the script and title of the film, the ties between a ghost story and family, and many other topics. Derek thinks the house isn't fit to live in. Aaron suspects no one has been able to live in it. Shelby knows it doesn't want people.
